General Information

Overview

Instructors and authorized assistants have the option to create and manage class websites through EEE.

Student and club websites have different rules and regulations and are not hosted by EEE.

Ask your instructor to build a website

If you think a class website would be helpful in your class and you'd like to ask your instructor to build one, download, print, sign, and give this short letter to your instructor.

Download the website request letter (pdf, 455 KB)

The website request letter tells your instructor:

  • Why a class website is helpful
  • How to get started quickly and easily
  • Where to find a step-by-step guide online
  • How to contact EEE support staff for assistance

Using Class Websites

Access class websites

Accessing class websites through MyEEE:

  1. Log in to EEE and go to your MyEEE page.
  2. Locate the class for which you would like to view the class website.
  3. Click Website.
    MyStudentClasses module
    Not all classes have websites.
The 'Website' link will only be available if the class has a website built on or linked to EEE. If there is a website for your class, but it's just not linked on EEE, you can report the website and an EEE staff member will review your request and add a link if appropriate.
You should now be in the appropriate class website.

Accessing class websites through the Class Website Index:

  1. Log in to EEE.
  2. Click Class Websites.
    Class Website Index
  3. Select the appropriate quarter for the class website which you wish to view using the drop down quarter selector in the top right hand corner and click Change Quarter.

  4. Select the appropriate department.
  5. Choose the class website from the list of available websites from the particular quarter you have selected. If it is not listed, the website does not exist, has not yet been linked to EEE, or has been deleted by its administrator.
You should now be in the class website of your choice.

Website restrictions

Instructors and authorized assistants may choose to restrict access to their class websites.

Possible restrictions include:

  • Password:
Part or all of a class website may require a password set by the managing instructor or assistant.
  • UCInetID:
A class website may be restricted to logged-in users, in which case anyone who logs in to EEE with a UCInetID and password can view the website.
  • On-Campus:
A class website may be restricted to on-campus computers, in which case anyone using a UCI computer connection, or authenticated through a Virtual Private Network can view the website.
  • Enrollment:
A class website may be restricted to enrolled students, in which case any officially enrolled and logged-in student can view the website.

For questions about the restrictions set on a particular class website, you must contact the instructor or assistant directly.

Instructors and authorized assistants are responsible for any information that they choose to post (or not post) on their class website. If you have any questions regarding the content of a class website, please contact the instructor or assistant directly.

Access past quarter class websites

Some instructors and assistants choose to keep their class website materials available after the quarter ends. Other restrict or delete some matierals, or even the entire website.

For questions about the availability of a past quarter class website, contact the instructor or assistant directly.

Accessing a past quarter website:

  1. Log in to EEE.
  2. Click Class Websites.

You should now be viewing the past class website of your choice.

Report a class website

If you are aware of an existing class website that is not yet linked to MyEEE, you can ask your instructor to add the link by using Report a Website. Your instructor will be notified of your request, and will be able to approve or reject the link you submitted as the official class website.

Reporting a website:

  1. Log in to EEE and go to your MyEEE page.
  2. Locate the class whose missing website would like to report.
  3. Click Report a Site.

  5. Click Report this Website.

The website should now be reported. EEE staff will review your request and add the link if appropriate.

Other Websites

Student websites

EEE does not provide hosting for student websites.

We recommend checking with your school or department to see if web space is available to you, or sign up for Google Apps for UCI to use Google's Sites tool.

Club websites

EEE does not provide hosting for club websites.

If your on-campus club at UCI would like to create a club website, contact Student Life & Leadership for more information regarding UCI club web space and creation.

Troubleshooting

Why am I missing classes?

There are several reasons why classes may be missing. Some of the most common causes are listed below.

Common causes for missing classes:

  • You may be viewing a different quarter on EEE — Switch Quarters
  • Students: You may not be officially enrolled in the class — Student Access
  • Assistants: Your instructor may not have added you in Assistants — Learn More
  • Instructors: Your Department Scheduler may have not added you to the Registrar's Electronic Schedule of Classes (eSOC)

Use the Missing Classes look-up tool to check your status and receive trouble-shooting help.
