humanities for students in the Humanities Core Course and others.
Virtual Research Project
A DUE-funded project done in conjunction with Ellen Strenski
of Writing 39C to provide web-based instruction in fundamental undergraduate
research skills. These exercises are designed to accompany the Writer's
Handbook used in the course, supplement the assigned historical readings
about the Americas with further background information, and provide weekly
in-class activities for writing instruction in section. Lessons include
guidance on defining search terms, conducting more efficient searches,
evaluating sources, integrating sources properly into a written argument,
and overall assessment of research projects.
