› Creating a Healthy Orange County: Active Transportation Forum

A forum will be held between policy makers and health care leaders interested to identify barriers and opportunities, share best practices, and develop priorities for Active Transportation for Orange County.

The forum will be on Friday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The University Club.

! EEE and other campus services impacted by intermittent network issue

EEE is one of several campus services (also including webmail and webfiles) currently being disrupted by an intermittent, unpredictable network issue. Campus staff are hard at work with our service providers to address this issue as soon as possible and we will provide updates when more information is available.

We are also posting updates to the EEE Twitter and Facebook pages, which are outside our network and remain available when EEE service is disrupted.

› Chancellor Drake's Promise for Education

To raise money for the Promise for Education initiative, Chancellor Drake will be leading a cycling tour of Irvine during Homecoming Weekend on January 25, 2014. So far the initiative is a success, and he has raised over $10,000 for scholarships, making him one of two chancellors to reach their goals in the first week.

› The U.S. Dept. of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013 and XPO

UCI has been designated the host university for the 2013 U.S Department of Energy Solar Decathlon and XPO. The event will be held at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, featuring numerous events and exhibits.

October 7-11 is California Rideshare Week! Ridesharing includes commuting to school or work by walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling, busing, or taking the train. Pledge to rideshare at least one day this week and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of several prizes. To enter, please visit

The "What Matters to Me and Why" series of informal discussions with respected members of our faculty continues October 9 with founding dean, and Distinguished Professor Erwin Chemerinsky. › Photos are Coming to EEE

Anteater ImageIf you've been on MyEEE recently, you might have noticed an announcement about photos. Beginning in Fall 2013, your photo may be made available to instructors and fellow classmates within EEE.

  • Students: Your official photo will be displayed to your instructors and, if you opt-in, to your classmates
  • Instructors/TAs: Your official photo will be displayed to your students

Be sure to check your MyEEE Profile, to configure your release settings prior to the official launch.
